What is Pilates?
Your core’s new best friend.
Pilates is a low-impact workout focused on strength, posture, and flexibility, especially in your core. It’s all about moving with intention, breathing deeply, and tuning into your body. You’ll feel strong, steady, and ready for anything!
What are the benefits of Pilates?
Strength + stretch = movement magic.
Expect stronger muscles, better posture, less tension, and more energy. Pilates helps improve flexibility, reduce stress, and prevent injury, all while being kind to your joints. You’ll walk out feeling taller and more connected to your body. Did I mention abs of steel?
Do I have to be flexible or athletic to do Pilates?
Nope! With proper training and the right instructor, Pilates meets you where you are. Pilates is for all levels and all bodies. You don’t need to touch your toes or run marathons to start. Pilates builds flexibility and strength over time. Beginners are always welcome. Experts are always challenged.
How often should I do Pilates?
Let’s make it a habit. A fun one! I recommend 2–3 times a week to feel the full magic, but even once a week makes a difference. Joseph Pilates recommended we do it every day. Your body will thank you, and so will your posture!.
Is Pilates for women only?
No way. Pilates is for every body.
Pilates was created by a genius man named Joseph Pilates in the 1930’s. He implemented his method of CONTROLOGY (the original Pilates Method) on soldiers of war in Europe, then later working with dancers and nightly performers in NYC. His method and legend supersedes his life and benefits everyone regardless of age or gender. At Keep It Movin’ Pilates, I welcome all humans who want to move better, feel stronger, and KEEP IT MOVIN’ using the methods that Joe passed on to us.
